CCL22 (CC motif chemokine ligand 22) plays a critical role in guiding activated/effector T lymphocytes to sites of inflammation and affects various aspects of T lymphocyte physiology. It has chemotactic activity against monocytes, dendritic cells, and natural killer cells, acts as a mild chemoattractant for primary activated T lymphocytes, and acts as a potent chemoattractant for chronically activated counterparts. MDC/CCL22 Protein, Human (HEK293, Fc) is the recombinant human-derived MDC/CCL22 protein, expressed by HEK293, with C-hFc labeled tag.

Description

Background

CCL22 (C-C Motif Chemokine Ligand 22) emerges as a crucial player in orchestrating the intricate trafficking patterns of activated/effector T-lymphocytes, steering them towards inflammatory sites and influencing various facets of activated T-lymphocyte physiology. Exhibiting chemotactic prowess for monocytes, dendritic cells, and natural killer cells, CCL22 serves as a mild chemoattractant for primary activated T-lymphocytes and a potent one for chronically activated counterparts. Notably, it lacks chemoattractant activity for neutrophils, eosinophils, and resting T-lymphocytes. The chemotactic effects of CCL22 are mediated through its binding to the CCR4 receptor. Interestingly, processed forms MDC(3-69), MDC(5-69), and MDC(7-69) appear to be inactive, adding a layer of complexity to its regulatory role in immune cell migration.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.

  • Specific Activity Calculator

The reconstitution calculator equation

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration
= ÷

The dilution calculator equation

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)

This equation is commonly abbreviated as: C1V1 = C2V2

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)
× = ×
C1   V1   C2   V2

The specific activity calculator equation

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)
Unit/mg = 106 ÷ ng/mL
