Description

Keracyanin chloride inhibits NF-κB/FAK/MAPK signaling pathway. Keracyanin chloride exhibits antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and hypoglycemic effects, and is orally active[1][2][3][4][5].

In Vitro

Keracyanin chloride (0.8 μM, 48 h) suppresses the phosphorylation level of NF-κB p65, inhibits the protein expression of PPAR-γ in THP-1 cell, downregulates the inflammation-related gene expression of TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6 and MCP-1[3].
Keracyanin chloride (10-200 µM, 24 h) inhibits blue light-induced ROS generation in HaCaT cell, inhibits FAK/MAPK/ERK/JNK signaling pathway, thereby exhibiting anti-inflammatory effect[4].
Keracyanin chloride exhibits a weak inhibitory activity against intestinal α-glucosidase (IC50s for maltase and sucrase are 2323 μM and 250.2 μM), delays carbohydrate digestion and absorption, and exhibits hypoglycemic effect[5].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Western Blot Analysis[3]

Cell Line: THP-1
Concentration: 0.8 μM
Incubation Time: 48 h
Result: Inhibited the PPAR-γ expression and phosphorylation of NF-κB p65.

Real Time qPCR[3]

Cell Line: THP-1
Concentration: 0.8 μM
Incubation Time: 48 h
Result: Downregulated the mRNA expression levels of TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6 and MCP-1.
In Vivo

Keracyanin chloride (30-300 mg/kg, po, single dose) reduces postprandial blood glucose levels in Wistar rats models[5].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Animal Model: Wistar rats models[5]
Dosage: 30-300 mg/kg
Administration: po, single dose
Result: Inhibited the increase in blood glucose after oral administration of maltose and sucrose.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
