Description	Cytochrome P450 1B1 Antibody (YA1836) is a rabbit-derived non-conjugated IgG antibody (Clone NO.: YA1836), targeting Cytochrome P450 1B1, with a predicted molecular weight of 61 kDa (observed band size: 61 kDa). Cytochrome P450 1B1 Antibody (YA1836) can be used for WB, IHC-P, FC experiment in human, mouse, rat background.
Background	Cytochrome P450 1B1 is a cytochrome P450 monooxygenase involved in the metabolism of various endogenous substrates, including fatty acids, steroid hormones, and vitamins. Mechanistically, it uses molecular oxygen to insert one oxygen atom into a substrate and reduces the second into a water molecule, with electrons provided by NADPH via cytochrome P450 reductase. It exhibits catalytic activity for the formation of hydroxyestrogens from estrone (E1) and 17β-estradiol (E2), with predominant hydroxylation at the C-4 position of E2. It also metabolizes testosterone and progesterone to B or D ring hydroxylated metabolites and may act as a major enzyme for all-trans retinoic acid biosynthesis in extrahepatic tissues, catalyzing the oxidation of all-trans retinol to all-trans retinal and then to all-trans retinoic acid. Additionally, it catalyzes the epoxidation of certain polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs), converting arachidonic acid to epoxyeicosatrienoic acid (EpETrE) regioisomers (8,9-, 11,12-, and 14,15-EpETrE), which function as lipid mediators in the vascular system. It also displays dehydratase activity toward hydroperoxyeicosatetraenoates (HpETEs), independent of cytochrome P450 reductase, NADPH, and O2. Furthermore, it participates in the oxidative metabolism of xenobiotics, converting polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons and heterocyclic aryl amines into DNA-damaging procarcinogens. Cytochrome P450 1B1 plays a crucial role in retinal vascular development, promoting angiogenesis and capillary morphogenesis under hyperoxic conditions, likely by metabolizing oxidative stress products. It also contributes to oxidative homeostasis and trabecular meshwork tissue organization by modulating POSTN expression (by similarity).
