SP/W-5186 is a nitric oxide (NO) donor agent containing a cysteine structure. SP/W-5186 can improve cardiac function, reduce myocardial damage, protect vascular endothelial function and inhibit inflammation and oxidative stress. SP/W-5186 has the ability to inhibit oxidative damage induced by peroxynitrite (ONOO⁻). SP/W-5186 can be used in the research of myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury.

Description

SP/W-5186 is a nitric oxide (NO) donor agent containing a cysteine structure. SP/W-5186 can improve cardiac function, reduce myocardial damage, protect vascular endothelial function and inhibit inflammation and oxidative stress. SP/W-5186 has the ability to inhibit oxidative damage induced by peroxynitrite (ONOO⁻). SP/W-5186 can be used in the research of myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury[1][2].

In Vivo

SP/W-5186 (0.3-1 μmol/kg, i.v., single dose) releases NO and significantly protects myocardial tissue from reperfusion injury in rabbits[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Animal Model: Myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury model established in adult male New Zealand white rabbits (2.8-3.5 kg)[1]
Dosage: 0.3 and 1 μmol/kg
Administration: Intravenous injection (i.v.), single dose
Result: Significantly improved the recovery of cardiac function.
Effectively alleviated myocardial cell damage.
Effectively inhibited the aggregation and infiltration of neutrophils in the myocardium, as well as the MDA content and platelet aggregation in the myocardial tissue.
Significantly improved the vasodilatory response of blood vessels to ACh, indicating that it effectively protected the endothelial function.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
