The RNASE6 protein, functioning as a ribonuclease, exhibits a distinct preference for the pyrimidines uridine and cytosine. This ribonuclease demonstrates potent antibacterial activity against a broad spectrum of bacteria, including P. aeruginosa, A. baumanii, M. luteus, S. aureus, E. faecalis, E. faecium, S. saprophyticus, and E. coli.
