Description

DDB1 Protein, Human (sf9, His) is the recombinant human-derived DDB1, expressed by sf9 insect cells , with His labeled tag.

Background

DDB1 is a multifunctional protein involved in both DNA repair and protein ubiquitination. As a core component of the UV-DDB complex, it recognizes UV-induced DNA damage (e.g., cyclobutane pyrimidine dimers CPD, 6-4 photoproducts 6-4 PP) and recruits nucleotide excision repair (NER) pathway proteins. Additionally, DDB1 serves as a scaffold for various DCX (DDB1-CUL4-X-box) E3 ubiquitin ligase complexes, where substrate-specific adaptors (e.g., DDB2, DTL, ERCC8) determine target specificity—mediating ubiquitination of histones (H2A/H3/H4), XPC, CRY1, etc., to regulate DNA damage response, transcription-coupled repair (TCR), circadian rhythms (via CRY1 degradation), and other processes. By similarity, DDB1 also stabilizes FOXO1 to promote gluconeogenesis, maintains oocytes via TET dioxygenases, and supports zygotic genome activation during early development.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.

  • Dilution Calculator

  • Specific Activity Calculator

The reconstitution calculator equation

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration
= ÷

The dilution calculator equation

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)

This equation is commonly abbreviated as: C1V1 = C2V2

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)
× = ×
C1   V1   C2   V2

The specific activity calculator equation

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)
Unit/mg = 106 ÷ ng/mL
