PPO-IN-23 is a potent protoporphyrinogen IX oxidase (PPO) inhibitor with a Ki of 12.4 nM. PPO-IN-23 forms two hydrogen bonds with the Arg98 residue of Nicotiana tabacum PPO (NtPPO). PPO-IN-23 exhibits potent herbicidal activity and good crop safety. PPO-IN-23 can be used for weeds management[1].

In Vitro

PPO-IN-23 (compound Iq) (37.5-150 g a.i./ha, 21 days) achieves control rates exceeding 90% against three weed species at 37.5 g a.i./ha: Abutilon juncea (ABUJU), Amaranthus tricolor (AMATR), and Echinochloa crus-galli (ECHCG)[1].
PPO-IN-23 (150 g a.i./ha, 21 days) exhibits 100% control efficacy against Portulaca oleracea, Aeschynomene indica, Commelina benghalensis, and Rumex acetosa, and exhibits greater safety for maize with an injury rate of only 15%[1].
