  2. Calcium Channel P-glycoprotein Apoptosis Bacterial
  3. HCA-6

HCA-6 is a calcium-channel and P-glycoprotein blocker. HCA-6 can induce cancer cells apoptosis and increase anticancer activity of Cisplatin (HY-17394). HCA-6 also exhibits antibacterial activity against Bacillus subtilis. HCA-6 can be used for the research of cancer and infection, such as breast cancer.

Description

HCA-6 is a calcium-channel and P-glycoprotein blocker. HCA-6 can induce cancer cells apoptosis and increase anticancer activity of Cisplatin (HY-17394). HCA-6 also exhibits antibacterial activity against Bacillus subtilis. HCA-6 can be used for the research of cancer and infection, such as breast cancer[1].

In Vitro

HCA-6 (2 μM, 24 h) significantly enhances the anticancer activity of Cisplatin (HY-17394) in 4T1, MDA-MB-231, HeLa, HepG2, and SW480 cells, reduces the IC50 of Cisplatin in HeLa cells to 3.65 μM and increases the inhibition rate by 61.21%[1].
HCA-6 (10 μM) inhibits P-glycoprotein (P-gp)-mediated efflux of rhodamine 123[1].
HCA-6 (10 μg/mL) induces apoptosis in Hela cells[1].
HCA-6 (0.25-1 mg/mL) exhibits antibacterial activity against Bacillus subtilis[1].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
