Description

PPAR alpha Antibody (YA6141) is a rabbit-derived and non-conjugated IgG monoclonal antibody, targeting to PPAR α. It can be applicated for WB, IHC-P, ICC/IF, IP, ELISA assays, in the background of human, mouse, rat.

Background

PPAR α is a ligand-activated transcription factor and a key regulator of lipid metabolism. It is activated by the endogenous ligand 1-palmitoyl-2-oleoyl-sn-glycerol-3-phosphocholine (16:0/18:1-GPC) and by oleylethanolamide, a naturally occurring lipid that regulates satiety. As a receptor for peroxisome proliferators, such as hypolipidemic drugs and fatty acids, PPAR α regulates the peroxisomal beta-oxidation pathway of fatty acids. It functions as a transcription activator for the ACOX1 and P450 genes, with its transactivation activity requiring heterodimerization with RXRA and being antagonized by NR2C2. PPAR α may also be involved in propagating clock information to metabolic pathways regulated by PER2.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
