Description

Human kappa Light Chain Antibody (YA1996) is a Rabbit-derived and non-conjugated IgG monoclonal antibody, targeting to Human kappa Light Chain.

Background

The Human kappa Light Chain is the constant region of immunoglobulin light chains. Immunoglobulins, also known as antibodies, are membrane-bound or secreted glycoproteins produced by B lymphocytes. In the recognition phase of humoral immunity, membrane-bound immunoglobulins act as receptors that, upon binding a specific antigen, trigger clonal expansion and differentiation of B lymphocytes into antibody-secreting plasma cells. Secreted immunoglobulins mediate the effector phase of humoral immunity, leading to the elimination of bound antigens. The antigen-binding site is formed by the variable domain of one heavy chain paired with its associated light chain, giving each immunoglobulin two high-affinity antigen-binding sites. Variable domains are assembled via V-(D)-J rearrangement and may undergo somatic hypermutation, enabling affinity maturation after antigen exposure and selection. by similar: This functional mechanism also applies to other immunoglobulin light chains (e.g., lambda chains).

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
