Description	Fos B Antibody (YA431) is a Rabbit-derived and non-conjugated IgG monoclonal antibody, targeting to Fos B.
Background	FosB heterodimerizes with proteins of the JUN family to form an AP-1 transcription factor complex, enhancing their DNA binding activity to gene promoters containing the AP-1 consensus sequence 5'-TGA[GC]TCA-3' and boosting their transcriptional activity. As part of the AP-1 complex, FosB facilitates enhancer selection by collaboratively binding to nucleosomal enhancers with cell-type-specific transcription factors and recruiting the SWI/SNF (BAF) chromatin remodeling complex to establish accessible chromatin (by similar). Together with JUN, FosB plays a role in activation-induced cell death of T cells by binding to the AP-1 promoter site of FASLG/CD95L and inducing its transcription in response to TCR/CD3 signaling pathway activation. FosB exhibits transactivation activity in vitro (by similar) and is involved in nurturing behavior toward newborns (by similar). It may also regulate neurogenesis in the hippocampus and influence learning and memory-related tasks by modulating genes associated with neurogenesis, depression, and epilepsy (by similar), as well as behavioral responses linked to morphine reward and spatial memory (by similar). An isoform of FosB shows lower transactivation activity in vitro (by similar), and its heterodimer with JUN lacks transcriptional activity, potentially acting as a transcriptional inhibitor (by similar). FosB may regulate hippocampal neurogenesis (by similar) and participate in synaptic modifications in nucleus accumbens medium spiny neurons, contributing to adaptive and pathological reward-dependent learning, including maladaptive responses in drug addiction (by similar). This isoform is more stably expressed in cell culture, with a half-life of ~9.5 hours compared to the 1.5-hour half-life of isoform 1 (by similar).
