5-Amino-2-methoxyphenol is a phenolic regioisomer. 5-Amino-2-methoxyphenol produces dose-dependent antinociception in the mouse formalin test, with its second-phase effect being mechanistically dependent on both FAAH and TRPV1. 5-Amino-2-methoxyphenol can be used for antinociception research[1].

In Vitro

5-Amino-2-methoxyphenol (compound 2) is conjugated by FAAH in greater amounts, albeit less efficiently and in lesser amounts than 4-Aminopyridine (HY-B0604) in brain homogenate from FAAH+/+ mice[1].

In Vivo

5-Amino-2-methoxyphenol (25-100 mg/kg, i.p., single dose) dose-dependently produces antinociception in the mouse formalin test, with its second-phase effect being mechanistically dependent on both FAAH and TRPV1[1].
5-Amino-2-methoxyphenol (300 mg/kg, i.p., single dose) results in no significant liver injury, as indicated by serum levels of ALT and the ALT/AST ratio[1].

Animal Model: Male C57BL/6 mice (8 weeks old)[1]
Dosage: 25, 50, 75 and 100 mg/kg
Administration: i.p., single dose
Result: Produces dose-dependent antinociception in both phases of the formalin test.
Its antinociceptive effect was inhibited by FAAH inhibitor URB937 (HY-116477) and TRPV1 antagonist Capsazepine (HY-15640) during the second, but not the first , phase of the formalin test at 50 mg/kg dose.
Did not affect locomotor activity in mice at 75 mg/kg.
