Description

TRPM7 Protein, Human (HEK293, Flag) is the recombinant human-derived TRPM7, expressed by HEK293 , with Flag labeled tag. ,

Background

TRPM7 is a bifunctional protein that combines an ion channel with an intrinsic kinase domain, enabling it to modulate cellular functions either by conducting ions through the pore or by phosphorylating downstream proteins via its kinase domain. The channel is highly permeable to divalent cations, specifically Ca2+, Mg2+, and Zn2+, mediating their influx. TRPM7 controls a wide range of biological processes, including Ca2+, Mg2+, and Zn2+ homeostasis, vesicular Zn2+ release, intracellular Ca2+ signaling, embryonic development, immune responses, cell motility, proliferation, and differentiation (by similarity). Its C-terminal alpha-kinase domain autophosphorylates cytoplasmic residues of TRPM7. In vivo, TRPM7 phosphorylates SMAD2, suggesting its kinase may activate SMAD signaling pathways. In vitro, the TRPM7 kinase phosphorylates ANXA1 (annexin A1), myosin II isoforms, and various proteins with diverse cellular functions.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.

  • Specific Activity Calculator

The reconstitution calculator equation

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration
= ÷

The dilution calculator equation

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)

This equation is commonly abbreviated as: C1V1 = C2V2

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)
× = ×
C1   V1   C2   V2

The specific activity calculator equation

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)
Unit/mg = 106 ÷ ng/mL
