ITGA1 Protein, a cell surface receptor, plays a crucial role in cell adhesion, migration, and tissue development. Dysregulation of ITGA1 Protein has been linked to various diseases, including cancer and fibrosis. Targeting ITGA1 Protein may provide potential therapeutic interventions in these conditions by modulating cell adhesion, inhibiting tumor growth, and preventing tissue fibrosis. ITGA1 Protein, Human (HEK293, His) is the recombinant human-derived ITGA1 protein, expressed by HEK293, with C-His labeled tag.

Description

Background

The ITGA1 protein, also known as integrin alpha-1/beta-1, functions as a receptor for laminin and collagen. It specifically recognizes the proline-hydroxylated sequence G-F-P-G-E-R in collagen. Additionally, ITGA1 is involved in the anchorage-dependent negative regulation of EGF-stimulated cell growth. It forms a heterodimer with a beta subunit, associating with beta-1. ITGA1 also interacts with RAB21 and with PTPN2, activating PTPN2 phosphatase activity towards EGFR and exerting a negative regulation on EGF signaling.

<1 EU/μg, determined by LAL method.

Reconstitution

It is not recommended to reconstitute to a concentration less than 100 μg/mL in ddH2O. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% BSA, 5% HSA, 10% FBS or 5% Trehalose).

Storage & Stability

Stored at -20°C for 2 years from date of receipt. After reconstitution, it is stable at 4°C for 1 week or -20°C for longer (with carrier protein). It is recommended to freeze aliquots at -20°C or -80°C for extended storage.

Shipping

Room temperature in continental US; may vary elsewhere.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.

  • Specific Activity Calculator

The reconstitution calculator equation

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration
= ÷

The dilution calculator equation

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)

This equation is commonly abbreviated as: C1V1 = C2V2

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)
× = ×
C1   V1   C2   V2

The specific activity calculator equation

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)
Unit/mg = 106 ÷ ng/mL
