Description

GRPR Protein, Human (Cell-free, Twin-Strep) is the recombinant human-derived GRPR, expressed by E. coli Cell-free , with C-Twin-Strep labeled tag.

Background

GRPR is a receptor for gastrin-releasing peptide (GRP), signaling via G protein-coupled activation of a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system to induce Akt phosphorylation. It regulates food intake and mediates nonhistaminergic itch sensation in the spinal cord (without pain perception). By similarity, GRPR acts in the amygdala to inhibit fear-associated memory and disinhibits auditory cortex glutamatergic cells via vasoactive intestinal peptide-expressing cells to enhance auditory fear memory. Additionally, it contributes to sigh induction through signaling in the pre-Bötzinger complex, a respiratory rhythm-generating neuronal cluster.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.

  • Dilution Calculator

  • Specific Activity Calculator

The reconstitution calculator equation

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration
= ÷

The dilution calculator equation

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)

This equation is commonly abbreviated as: C1V1 = C2V2

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)
× = ×
C1   V1   C2   V2

The specific activity calculator equation

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)
Unit/mg = 106 ÷ ng/mL
