Description

FUS Protein, Human (MBP-His) is the recombinant human-derived FUS protein, expressed by E. coli, with N-His & N-MBP tag.

Background

TLS/FUS is a DNA/RNA-binding protein involved in multiple cellular processes including transcription regulation, RNA splicing, RNA transport, DNA repair, and damage response. It specifically binds single-stranded RNA containing the 5'-AGGUAA-3' consensus sequence and interacts with nascent pre-mRNAs, serving as a molecular bridge between RNA polymerase II and U1 small nuclear ribonucleoprotein to couple transcription with splicing. The protein autoregulates its expression by binding its own pre-mRNA via nonsense-mediated decay. During DNA double-strand break repair, it promotes D-loop formation and homologous recombination. In neuronal cells (by similar), it plays essential roles in dendritic spine formation/stability, RNA transport, mRNA stability, and synaptic homeostasis.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.

The reconstitution calculator equation

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration
= ÷

The dilution calculator equation

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)

This equation is commonly abbreviated as: C1V1 = C2V2

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)
× = ×
C1   V1   C2   V2

The specific activity calculator equation

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)
Unit/mg = 106 ÷ ng/mL
