DPEP3 Protein, Human (HEK293, His) is the recombinant human-derived DPEP3 protein, expressed by HEK293, with C-10*His tag.

Background

DPEP3 lacks dipeptidase activity and cannot hydrolyze cystinyl-bis-glycine, leukotriene D4, or the β-lactam antibiotic imipenem. The absence of activity may result from asparagine (instead of aspartate in DPEP1/2) at position 359 being unable to function as an acid/base catalyst to activate the nucleophilic water/hydroxide. Additionally, tyrosine (instead of histidine) at position 269 reduces affinity for the β-zinc and may cause substrate steric hindrance. by similar: These findings are supported by data from PubMed:32325220.
