Description

DHHC20 Protein, Human (sf9) is the recombinant human-derived DHHC20, expressed by sf9 insect cells , with tag Free labeled tag.

Background

DHHC20 is a palmitoyltransferase that catalyzes the addition of palmitate to various protein substrates. It mediates palmitoylation of Cys residues in the cytoplasmic C-terminus of EGFR, modulating the duration of EGFR signaling by regulating palmitoylation-dependent EGFR internalization and degradation. This enzyme exhibits a preference for acyl-CoA with C16 fatty acid chains but can also utilize acyl-CoA with C14 and C18 chains. Additionally, DHHC20 may palmitoylate the CALHM1 subunit of gustatory voltage-gated ion channels, influencing channel gating and kinetics. by similar

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.

The reconstitution calculator equation

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration

The dilution calculator equation

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)

This equation is commonly abbreviated as: C1V1 = C2V2

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)
× = ×

The specific activity calculator equation

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)
Unit/mg = 106 ÷ ng/mL
