Copine-1/CPNE1 protein is a calcium-dependent phospholipid-binding protein that participates in the TNF-α receptor signaling pathway in a calcium-dependent manner. CPNE1 induces AKT-dependent neurite outgrowth and is also involved in TNF-α-induced repression of NF-κ-B transcription. Copine-1/CPNE1 Protein, Human (His) is the recombinant human-derived Copine-1/CPNE1 protein, expressed by E. coli , with N-6*His, C-6*His labeled tag.

Description

Copine-1/CPNE1 protein is a calcium-dependent phospholipid-binding protein that participates in the TNF-α receptor signaling pathway in a calcium-dependent manner. CPNE1 induces AKT-dependent neurite outgrowth and is also involved in TNF-α-induced repression of NF-κ-B transcription. Copine-1/CPNE1 Protein, Human (His) is the recombinant human-derived Copine-1/CPNE1 protein, expressed by E. coli , with N-6*His, C-6*His labeled tag.

Background

Copine-1, also known as CPNE1, is a calcium-dependent phospholipid-binding protein that actively participates in calcium-mediated intracellular processes. Involved in the TNF-alpha receptor signaling pathway, Copine-1 exhibits calcium-dependent phospholipid binding properties. Additionally, it plays a pivotal role in neuronal progenitor cell differentiation by inducing neurite outgrowth through an AKT-dependent signaling cascade, operating in a calcium-independent manner. Copine-1 may also contribute to the recruitment of target proteins to the cell membrane in a calcium-dependent fashion and is implicated in membrane trafficking. Furthermore, it is involved in TNF-alpha-induced NF-kappa-B transcriptional repression by inducing endoprotease processing of various NF-kappa-B subunits, including p65/RELA, p50/NFKB1, p52/NFKB2, RELB, and REL. The multifaceted functions of Copine-1 highlight its versatile role in cellular processes, ranging from neuronal development to membrane dynamics and signal transduction pathways.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.

  • Specific Activity Calculator

The reconstitution calculator equation

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration
= ÷

The dilution calculator equation

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)

This equation is commonly abbreviated as: C1V1 = C2V2

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)
× = ×
C1   V1   C2   V2

The specific activity calculator equation

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)
Unit/mg = 106 ÷ ng/mL
