Description

Complement factor I Protein, Mouse (HEK293, His) is the recombinant mouse-derived Complement factor I protein, expressed by HEK293, with C-His tag.

Background

Complement factor I is a trypsin-like serine protease that critically regulates immune responses by controlling all complement pathways. It inactivates these pathways through cleavage of three peptide bonds in the alpha-chain of C3b and two bonds in C4b's alpha-chain. Essential cofactors include fluid-phase factor H and C4BP, plus membrane-bound MCP/CD46 and CR1. On healthy cells, these cofactors enable CFI-mediated C3b degradation to prevent aberrant complement activation, whereas their absence on apoptotic cells/microbes permits C3b-driven complement activation and opsonization. by similar: Functional descriptions are generalized from shared complement regulatory mechanisms.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.

The reconstitution calculator equation

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration
= ÷

The dilution calculator equation

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)

This equation is commonly abbreviated as: C1V1 = C2V2

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)
× = ×
C1   V1   C2   V2

The specific activity calculator equation

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)
Unit/mg = 106 ÷ ng/mL
