Cathepsin C/DPPI Protein, Human (HEK293, C-His)

Cat. No.: HY-P704009
Handling Instructions Technical Support

Cathepsin C/DPPI Protein, a thiol protease, exhibits dipeptidylpeptidase activity with broad substrate specificity, excluding proline at the P1 position and arginine at the P2 position. Operating as both exopeptidase and endopeptidase, it displays catalytic versatility. Crucially, Cathepsin C/DPPI activates serine proteases like elastase, cathepsin G, and granzymes A and B. Cathepsin C/DPPI Protein, Human (HEK293, C-His) is the recombinant human-derived Cathepsin C/DPPI protein, expressed by HEK293, with C-10*His labeled tag.

Description

Background

Cathepsin C/DPPI Protein functions as a thiol protease, displaying dipeptidylpeptidase activity with a broad substrate specificity encompassing both polar and hydrophobic amino acids. Notably, proline is restricted from the P1 position, and arginine cannot occupy the P2 position of the substrate. This enzyme operates as both an exopeptidase and an endopeptidase, showcasing versatility in its catalytic functions. Of significance, Cathepsin C/DPPI plays a crucial role in the activation of serine proteases, including elastase, cathepsin G, and granzymes A and B.

Biological Activity

Measured by its ability to cleave the fluorogenic peptide substrate 10 μM Gly-Arg-AMC (HY-P4342) that incubate at room temperature in kinetic Mode for 5 minutes. The specific activity is 2567.11 pmol/min/µg.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.

  • Specific Activity Calculator

The reconstitution calculator equation

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration
= ÷

The dilution calculator equation

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)

This equation is commonly abbreviated as: C1V1 = C2V2

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)
× = ×
C1   V1   C2   V2

The specific activity calculator equation

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)
Unit/mg = 106 ÷ ng/mL
