Annexin A7 Protein, Human is a 51 kDa multifunctional protein which belongs to the the group A annexin family and contains an extraordinarily long amino terminus. Annexin A7 is a membrane binding protein with diverse properties including voltage sensitive calcium channel activity, ion selectivity and membrane fusion[1][2].

Background

The Annexins comprise a family of proteins that are involved in many aspects of cellular membrane dynamics and the regulation of membrane-associated proteins.
Annexin A7 is encoded by ANXA7 gene and is the first isolated annexin, mediating the Ca2+-regulated chromaffin granule exocytosis. Annexin 7 has molecular weight of approximately 51 kDa with a unique, highly hydrophobic N-terminal domain of 167 amino acids and a conserved C-terminal region of 299 amino acids. Annexin A7 plays an important role in membrane fusion during exocytosis, localizing predominantly in the cytoplasm and showing a high prevalence in the brain, heart, and skeletal muscle[1].

Biological Activity

Immobilized Human Annexin A7 Protein at 5 μg/mL (100μL/well) can bind Anti-Annexin A7 antibody. The ED50 for this effect is 3.01 ng/mL.

Reconstitution

It is not recommended to reconstitute to a concentration less than 100 μg/mL in ddH2O. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% BSA, 5% HSA, 10% FBS or 5% Trehalose).

Stored at -20°C for 2 years from date of receipt. After reconstitution, it is stable at 4°C for 1 week or -20°C for longer (with carrier protein). It is recommended to freeze aliquots at -20°C or -80°C for extended storage.
