ANGPTL7/Angiopoietin-related 7 Protein, Human (HEK293, mFc)

Cat. No.: HY-P704267
Handling Instructions Technical Support

ANGPTL7/angiopoietin-related 7 protein plays a crucial role in the formation and organization of the extracellular matrix. Particularly in the eye, it serves as a mediator for dexamethasone-induced matrix deposition within the trabecular meshwork, a tissue that studies have shown is necessary for aqueous humor outflow and maintenance of intraocular pressure. ANGPTL7/Angiopoietin-related 7 Protein, Human (HEK293, mFc) is the recombinant human-derived ANGPTL7/Angiopoietin-related 7 protein, expressed by HEK293, with C-mFc labeled tag.

Background

ANGPTL7/Angiopoietin-related proteins play a crucial role in extracellular matrix formation and organization; particularly in the eye, they mediate dexamethasone-induced matrix deposition in the trabecular meshwork (essential for aqueous humor outflow and intraocular pressure maintenance), act as negative regulators of corneal angiogenesis to preserve corneal avascularity and transparency, form homotetramers via disulfide linkages to maintain ocular extracellular matrix structural integrity, and are regulated by SP1 transcription and the RhoA/ROCK signaling pathway (mediating CLAN formation). Additionally, ANGPTL7 is predicted to have protein binding and signaling receptor binding activity, be involved in regulating vasculature development and extracellular matrix organization, localize to the extracellular region, be active in collagen-containing extracellular matrix and extracellular space, show biased expression in kidney, bladder, and 12 other tissues, and is expressed in the brain as the ortholog of human ANGPTL7.

Appearance

Lyophilized powder.

Formulation

Lyophilized from 0.22 μm filtered solution of Tris with Glycine, Arginine and NaCl, pH7.5 with trehalose as protectant.
Note: For SPR assay, please replace the buffer. Primary amine components (e.g., Tris, imidazole) can affect protein-coupled chips.

Endotoxin Level

<1 EU/μg, determined by LAL method.

Reconstitution

It is not recommended to reconstitute to a concentration less than 100 μg/mL in ddH2O. For long term storage it is recommended to add a carrier protein (0.1% BSA, 5% HSA, 10% FBS or 5% Trehalose).

Storage & Stability

Stored at -20°C for 2 years from date of receipt. After reconstitution, it is stable at 4°C for 1 week or -20°C for longer (with carrier protein). It is recommended to freeze aliquots at -20°C or -80°C for extended storage.

Shipping

Room temperature in continental US; may vary elsewhere.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.

  • Dilution Calculator

  • Specific Activity Calculator

The reconstitution calculator equation

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration

Volume (to add to vial) = Mass (in vial) ÷ Desired Reconstitution Concentration
= ÷

The dilution calculator equation

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)

This equation is commonly abbreviated as: C1V1 = C2V2

Concentration (start) × Volume (start) = Concentration (final) × Volume (final)
× = ×
C1   V1   C2   V2

The specific activity calculator equation

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)

Specific Activity (Unit/mg) = 106 ÷ Biological Activity (ED50)
Unit/mg = 106 ÷ ng/mL
