Description

Palladium(II) acetylacetonate is a metal-organic complex. Palladium(II) acetylacetonate upregulates the expression of GRP78, ATF-4, XBP-1, CHOP, and phosphorylated c-Jun. Palladium(II) acetylacetonate induces Apoptosis. Palladium(II) acetylacetonate has anticancer effects against non-small cell lung cancer, gastric cancer, leukemia, and cervical cancer[1][2][3].

In Vitro

Palladium(Ⅱ) acetylacetonate (72 h) shows stronger cytotoxicity than Cisplatin (HY-17394) in H460, BGC-823, HL-60, and Hela cells (IC50 values in H460 cells: 4.56 μM (Palladium(Ⅱ) acetylacetonate) vs. 10.17 μM (Cisplatin))[2].
Palladium(Ⅱ) acetylacetonate (5-20 μM; 16 h) induces apoptosis in H460 cells in a dose-dependent manner[2].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Apoptosis Analysis [2]

Cell Line: H460
Concentration: 5 μM, 10 μM, 20 μM
Incubation Time: 16 h
Result: Increased the percentage of apoptotic cells from 21% to 64.6%.

Western Blot Analysis [2]

Cell Line: H460
Concentration: 5 μM, 10 μM, 20 μM
Incubation Time: 3 h, 6 h, 12 h, 24 h
Result: Up-regulated the expression levels of GRP78, ATF-4, XBP-1, CHOP, and phosphorylated c-Jun.
In Vivo

Palladium(Ⅱ) acetylacetonate (1-2 mg/kg; i.p.; every 2 days; 16 days) significantly inhibits the growth of H460 tumor xenografts in athymic BALB/cA nu/nu female mice [2].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Animal Model: Athymic BALB/cA nu/nu female mice (18-24g, 6-week-old) bearing H460 tumor xenografts[2]
Dosage: 1 mg/kg, 2 mg/kg
Administration: Intraperitoneal injection, every 2 days, for 16 days
Result: Dose-dependently reduced the tumor volume and weight compared with the vehicle control group.
Displayed better antitumor activity than Cisplatin at 2 mg/kg.
Showed no significant difference in body weight change between the vehicle group and the Pd(acac)₂-treated groups.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
