Description

Indole-2-carbaldehyde is an indole derivative that can be used to reduce or remove localized fat deposits and/or tighten loose skin and soft tissues. Indole-2-carbaldehyde can be isolated from the fermentation broth of the coral symbiotic actinomycete Pseudonocardia sp. SCSIO 11457 and is used in cosmetic applications or pharmaceutical production[1][2].

In Vitro

Indole-2-carbaldehyde has no significant antibacterial activity against pathogenic bacteria and no cytotoxic activity against human cancer cell lines[1].
Indole-2-carbaldehyde (compound 2) exhibits a higher killing rate against adipocytes and is more specific to adipocytes than to neural cells, dermal cells, muscle cells, and endothelial cells[2].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
