Atibuclimab  (Synonyms: IC14)

Cat. No.: HY-P99008 Purity: 99.06%
Technical Support

Atibuclimab (IC14), is a chimeric monoclonal antibody directed against CD14 and is composed of murine variable and human IgG4 Fc regions. Atibuclimab attenuates Lipopolysaccharides (HY-D1056) (LPS)-induced symptoms and strongly inhibits LPS-induced proinflammatory cytokine release, while only delaying the release of the anti-inflammatory cytokines soluble TNF receptor type I and IL-1 receptor antagonist. Atibuclimab can be used for the research of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, sepsis, community-acquired pneumonia, or acute lung injury.

Description

Atibuclimab (IC14), is a chimeric monoclonal antibody directed against CD14 and is composed of murine variable and human IgG4 Fc regions. Atibuclimab attenuates Lipopolysaccharides (HY-D1056) (LPS)-induced symptoms and strongly inhibits LPS-induced proinflammatory cytokine release, while only delaying the release of the anti-inflammatory cytokines soluble TNF receptor type I and IL-1 receptor antagonist. Atibuclimab can be used for the research of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, sepsis, community-acquired pneumonia, or acute lung injury[1][2].

In Vitro

Atibuclimab (IC14) recognizes both membrane-bound CD14 (mCD14) and soluble CD14 (sCD14)[1].
Cluster of differentiation 14 (CD14) is a glycoprotein found on the surface of myeloid cells. CD14 functions as an accessory molecule for several toll-like receptors (TLRs), a family of pattern recognition receptors that respond to conserved patterns in pathogens and human molecules associated with inflammation and tissue injury. CD14 is a receptor for cell wall components of Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria that has been implicated in the initiation of the inflammatory response to sepsis[1][2].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
