Description

TRAF2 Antibody (YA4219) is a mouse-derived and non-conjugated IgG1 antibody, targeting to TRAF2. It can be applicated for IHC-P, ICC/IF, FC, ELISA assays, in the background of human.

Background

TRAF2 is an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase that plays a central role in regulating NF-kappa-B and JNK activation, thereby influencing cell survival and apoptosis. It catalyzes 'Lys-63'-linked ubiquitination of target proteins such as BIRC3, IKBKE, MLST8, RIPK1, and TICAM1, and serves as an essential component of multiple E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complexes, facilitating ubiquitination by bridging target proteins with other E3 ligases. TRAF2 regulates the protein levels of BIRC2 and BIRC3 by inhibiting their autoubiquitination and subsequent degradation, a process independent of its RING-type zinc finger domain. Additionally, TRAF2 mediates NF-kappa-B activation by EIF2AK2/PKR and, in complex with BIRC2 or BIRC3, promotes ubiquitination of IKBKE. In the mTOR pathway, TRAF2 modulates the assembly of mTORC1 and mTORC2 by mediating 'Lys-63'-linked ubiquitination of MLST8, inhibiting mTORC2 formation while promoting mTORC1 assembly. TRAF2 is also required for normal antibody isotype switching from IgM to IgG (by similar).

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
