TET2 Antibody (YA4336) is a mouse-derived and non-conjugated IgG1 antibody, targeting to TET2. It can be applicated for WB, IHC-P, ICC/IF, FC, ELISA assays, in the background of human.

TET2 is a dioxygenase that catalyzes the conversion of the modified genomic base 5-methylcytosine (5mC) into 5-hydroxymethylcytosine (5hmC) and plays a key role in active DNA demethylation. It exhibits a preference for 5-hydroxymethylcytosine within CpG motifs. Additionally, TET2 mediates the sequential oxidation of 5hmC to 5-formylcytosine (5fC) and further to 5-carboxylcytosine (5caC). The stepwise conversion of 5mC to 5hmC, 5fC, and 5caC likely represents the initial phase of cytosine demethylation. C5 methylation of cytosine bases is an epigenetic modification in mammalian genomes with significant transcriptional regulatory functions. Beyond DNA demethylation, TET2 facilitates the recruitment of O-GlcNAc transferase OGT to CpG-rich transcription start sites of active genes, thereby promoting OGT-mediated histone H2B GlcNAcylation.
