SLC39A6 Antibody (YA1187) is a rabbit-derived non-conjugated IgG antibody (Clone NO.: YA1187), targeting SLC39A6. SLC39A6 Antibody (YA1187) can be used for IHC-P experiment in human background.

Background

SLC39A6 is a zinc-influx transporter involved in zinc homeostasis and the induction of epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (EMT). When associated with SLC39A10, the SLC39A10-SLC39A6 heterodimer mediates cellular zinc uptake to trigger EMT. This heterodimer also controls NCAM1 phosphorylation and its integration into focal adhesion complexes during EMT (by similar). Zinc influx inactivates GSK3B, allowing unphosphorylated SNAI1 in the nucleus to downregulate adherence genes like CDH1, leading to loss of cell adherence. Additionally, the SLC39A10-SLC39A6 heterodimer plays a key role in initiating mitosis by importing zinc to activate pathways that trigger mitotic onset. It also regulates T-cell receptor signaling by mediating zinc uptake in activated lymphocytes and ensures proper meiotic progression to metaphase II (MII) for the oocyte-to-egg transition.
