phospho-NLRC4(Ser-533) Antibody (YA4322) is a rat-derived and non-conjugated IgG2b antibody, targeting to NLRC4 (Ser-533). It can be applicated for ICC/IF, FC, ELISA assays, in the background of human.

Background

NLRC4 is a key component of inflammasomes that indirectly senses specific proteins from pathogenic bacteria and fungi, triggering inflammasome assembly to promote caspase-1 activation, cytokine production, and macrophage pyroptosis. The NLRC4 inflammasome is activated during innate immune responses against intracellular bacteria, including Gram-negative pathogens like L.pneumophila and P.aeruginosa, enteric bacteria such as S.typhimurium (Salmonella) and S.flexneri, and the fungal pathogen C.albicans. It detects virulence factors like flagellin and PrgJ-like rod proteins from type III (T3SS) and type IV (T4SS) secretion systems via Naip proteins (Naip1, Naip2, or Naip5), which initiate NLRC4 inflammasome activation. In the gut, it distinguishes commensal from pathogenic bacteria, specifically inducing interleukin-1 beta (IL1B) production during Salmonella or P.aeruginosa infection. During L.pneumophila infection, the inflammasome activates caspase-7.
