Description

Phospho-Hormone sensitive lipase (Ser853) Antibody (YA189) is a Rabbit-derived and non-conjugated IgG monoclonal antibody, targeting to Phospho-Hormone sensitive lipase (Ser853).

Background

Hormone sensitive lipase is a lipase with broad substrate specificity, catalyzing the hydrolysis of triacylglycerols (TAGs), diacylglycerols (DAGs), monoacylglycerols (MAGs), cholesteryl esters, and retinyl esters. It preferentially hydrolyzes DAGs over TAGs and MAGs, with a preference for fatty acid esters at the sn-3 position of the glycerol backbone in DAGs. In TAGs, it preferentially hydrolyzes fatty acid esters at the sn-1 and sn-2 positions (By similarity). It also catalyzes the hydrolysis of the endocannabinoid 2-arachidonoylglycerol and 2-acetyl monoalkylglycerol ether, a precursor in platelet-activating factor synthesis (By similarity). In adipose tissue and heart, it primarily hydrolyzes stored triglycerides to release free fatty acids, while in steroidogenic tissues, it converts cholesteryl esters to free cholesterol for steroid hormone production (By similarity).

  • Western blot analysis of extracts from NIH3T3(lane 2(20μg) or lane 3(40μg)) and 3T3-L1(lane 4(20μg) or lane 5(40μg)), using Phospho-Hormone sensitive lipase (Ser853) (HY-P80464) Rabbit mAb. Proteins were transferred to a PVDF membrane and blocked with 5% BSA in TBST for 2 hour at room temperature. The primary antibody (HY-P80464, 1/1000) and Loading control antibody (GAPDH, HY-P80954, 1/3000) was used in 5% BSA in TBST at 4°C overnight. Goat Anti-Mouse/Rabbit IgG-HRP Secondary Antibody (HY-P8004/HY-P8001, 1/10,000) was used for 1 hour at room temperature.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
