Nkx-2.5 Antibody (YA4989) is a mouse-derived and non-conjugated monoclonal antibody, targeting to Nkx-2.5. It can be applicated for WB, ELISA assays, in the background of human.

Nkx-2.5 is a transcription factor essential for the development of the heart and spleen. During heart development, it acts as a transcriptional activator of NPPA/ANF in cooperation with GATA4 (by similar). It may also cooperate with TBX2 to negatively modulate the expression of NPPA/ANF in the atrioventricular canal (by similar). Nkx-2.5 binds to the core DNA motif of the NPPA promoter. Together with PBX1, it is required for spleen development through a mechanism involving CDKN2B repression. Under hypoxic conditions, Nkx-2.5 positively regulates the transcription of genes such as COL3A1 and MMP2, leading to increased pulmonary endothelial fibrosis.
