KPNA2 Antibody (YA4077) is a mouse-derived and non-conjugated IgG1 antibody, targeting to KPNA2. It can be applicated for WB, IHC-P, ICC/IF, FC, ELISA assays, in the background of human, mouse.

KPNA2 functions as an adapter protein in nuclear protein import by interacting with the nuclear receptor KPNB1. It specifically binds substrates containing either simple or bipartite NLS motifs (by similar). The importin/substrate complex docks to the nuclear pore complex (NPC) via KPNB1 binding to FxFG repeats, followed by Ran-dependent energy-driven translocation through the pore. On the nucleoplasmic side, Ran binding to importin-beta triggers complex dissociation, with re-export of importin-alpha and -beta to the cytoplasm. Nuclear import directionality is regulated by asymmetric distribution of Ran's GTP/GDP-bound forms between cytoplasm and nucleus. KPNA2 also mediates nuclear import of PR-DUB complex component BAP1, acting redundantly with KPNA1 and Transportin-1/TNPO1 (by similar).
