Description

c-Kit Antibody (YA3747) is a mouse-derived and non-conjugated IgG1 antibody, targeting to KIT. It can be applicated for WB, IHC-P, ELISA assays, in the background of human.

Background

c-Kit is a tyrosine-protein kinase that functions as a cell-surface receptor for the cytokine KITLG/SCF, playing a vital role in regulating cell survival, proliferation, hematopoiesis, stem cell maintenance, gametogenesis, mast cell development/function, and melanogenesis. Upon KITLG/SCF binding, c-Kit activates multiple signaling pathways, phosphorylating PIK3R1, PLCG1, SH2B2/APS, and CBL. It triggers the AKT1 pathway via PIK3R1 phosphorylation (the regulatory subunit of phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase) and transmits signals through GRB2 to activate RAS, RAF1, and MAP kinases MAPK1/ERK2 and/or MAPK3/ERK1. c-Kit also promotes STAT family member (STAT1/3/5A/5B) activation and PLCG1-mediated production of diacylglycerol and inositol 1,4,5-trisphosphate. Its signaling is modulated by protein phosphatases and receptor internalization/degradation, while activated c-Kit induces phosphorylation of PTPN6/SHP-1, PTPRU, STAT1/3/5A/5B, PIK3R1, CBL, CRK (Crk-II isoform), LYN, MAPK1/ERK2/ERK1, PLCG1, SRC, and SHC1.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
