Human IgM Antibody (YA3610) is a mouse-derived and non-conjugated IgG1 antibody, targeting to IGHM. It can be applicated for WB, IHC-P, FC, ELISA assays, in the background of human.

Human IgM is the constant region of immunoglobulin heavy chains, which are membrane-bound or secreted glycoproteins produced by B lymphocytes. In the recognition phase of humoral immunity, membrane-bound IgM acts as a receptor that triggers B cell clonal expansion and differentiation into antibody-secreting plasma cells upon antigen binding. Secreted IgM (sIgM) can multimerize into high-order polymers (primarily pentamers, occasionally hexamers), enabling multivalent and high-avidity antigen recognition. Natural sIgM is polyreactive and targets conserved self- and pathogen-derived structures, while immune sIgM is antigen-specific and secreted only after pathogen exposure—both are essential for effective humoral immunity (by similar). sIgM mediates effector functions via Fc receptors (e.g., FCMR) and the complement system, promoting neutralizing IgG responses while maintaining self-tolerance (by similar). It recruits C1q to initiate the classical complement pathway for pathogen clearance (by similar). In mucosal immunity, sIgM is transcytosed across epithelia by PIGR to scan for pathogens, and IgM-antigen complexes undergo FCMR-mediated retrotranscytosis to mucosal lymphoid tissues (by similar). Membrane-bound IgM is part of the B cell receptor (BCR) complex, providing tonic signaling for B cell survival and regulating pre-BCR signaling during B cell development.
