Cytochrome P450 2D6 Antibody (YA3384) can be used for WB, IHC-P, ICC/IF, FC experiment in human background.
Background	Cytochrome P450 2D6 is a cytochrome P450 monooxygenase involved in the metabolism of fatty acids, steroids, and retinoids. Mechanistically, it utilizes molecular oxygen to insert one oxygen atom into a substrate while reducing the second into water, with electrons supplied by NADPH via cytochrome P450 reductase. This enzyme catalyzes the epoxidation of polyunsaturated fatty acid (PUFA) double bonds and metabolizes the endocannabinoid arachidonoylethanolamide (anandamide) into 20-hydroxyeicosatetraenoic acid ethanolamide (20-HETE-EA) and 8,9-, 11,12-, and 14,15-epoxyeicosatrienoic acid ethanolamides (EpETrE-EAs), potentially modulating endocannabinoid signaling. It also hydroxylates carbon-hydrogen bonds, converts cholesterol to 25-hydroxycholesterol (a regulator of cellular cholesterol homeostasis), and oxidizes all-trans retinol to all-trans retinal (a precursor of active all-trans-retinoic acid). Additionally, it participates in the oxidative metabolism of drugs, including antiarrhythmics, adrenoceptor antagonists, and tricyclic antidepressants.
