Description

CIP4 Antibody (YA2503) is a Rabbit-derived and non-conjugated IgG monoclonal antibody, targeting to CIP4.

Background

CIP4 is a protein involved in multiple cellular processes. It is required for insulin-stimulated translocation of GLUT4 to the plasma membrane (by similarity). The protein coordinates membrane tubulation with actin cytoskeleton reorganization during endocytosis by binding to lipids such as phosphatidylinositol 4,5-bisphosphate and phosphatidylserine, promoting membrane invagination and tubule formation. Additionally, CIP4 promotes CDC42-induced actin polymerization by recruiting WASL/N-WASP, which activates the Arp2/3 complex; this actin polymerization may facilitate the fission of membrane tubules into endocytic vesicles. It is essential for the formation of podosomes, actin-rich adhesion structures specific to monocyte-derived cells, and may be required for the lysosomal retention of FASLG/FASL.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
