Description	BAT3 Antibody (YA2251) is a rabbit-derived non-conjugated IgG antibody (Clone NO.: YA2251), targeting BAT3, with a predicted molecular weight of 119 kDa (observed band size: 150 kDa). BAT3 Antibody (YA2251) can be used for WB, ICC/IF experiment in human, mouse, rat background.
Background	BAT3 is an ATP-independent molecular chaperone that prevents aggregation of misfolded or hydrophobic patch-containing proteins. As part of the BAG6/BAT3 complex, it maintains client proteins in a soluble state for proper delivery to the endoplasmic reticulum or targets them to the proteasome for degradation. The complex facilitates post-translational delivery of tail-anchored/type II transmembrane proteins to the ER membrane by interacting with their transmembrane domains in coordination with SGTA and ASNA1. Misdelivered client proteins are ubiquitinated by RNF126 (an E3 ligase associated with BAG6) for proteasomal degradation. By similar mechanisms: the complex acts as a sorting platform for mislocalized secretory pathway proteins; participates in ERAD by maintaining retrotranslocated proteins in soluble unfolded states; may mediate selective ubiquitin-proteasome degradation of defective nascent polypeptides potentially influencing antigen presentation; and contributes to ER stress-induced pre-emptive quality control by rerouting translocation-impaired proteins to the proteasome. Additionally, BAT3 regulates DNA damage-induced apoptosis by nuclear accumulation and enhancing p300-mediated p53 acetylation, functions as an NCR3 ligand in exosomes to stimulate NK cell cytotoxicity, and mediates ricin-induced apoptosis.
