Description	BAP31 Antibody (YA1320) is a Rabbit-derived and non-conjugated IgG monoclonal antibody, targeting to BAP31.
Background	BAP31 functions as a chaperone protein and is one of the most abundant endoplasmic reticulum (ER) proteins. It plays a role in the export of secreted proteins from the ER, the recognition of misfolded proteins, and their targeting to ER-associated degradation (ERAD). Additionally, it serves as a cargo receptor for the export of transmembrane proteins (by similarity). BAP31 contributes to the assembly of the mitochondrial membrane respiratory chain NADH dehydrogenase (Complex I) by facilitating the translocation of NDUFS4 and NDUFB11 from the cytosol to the mitochondria through interaction with TOMM40. In response to ER stress, it relocalizes from ER-mitochondria contact sites and binds to BCL2. It may also be involved in CASP8-mediated apoptosis.
