Description

AUP1 Antibody (YA4599) is a Mouse-derived and non-conjugated IgG2b monoclonal antibody, targeting to AUP1.

Background

AUP1 is a protein involved in the translocation of terminally misfolded proteins from the endoplasmic reticulum lumen to the cytoplasm for degradation by the proteasome (PubMed:18711132, PubMed:21857022). It plays a role in lipid droplet formation and clustering (PubMed:21857022, PubMed:24039768). AUP1 recruits the ubiquitin-conjugating enzyme UBE2G2 to lipid droplets, facilitating its interaction with ubiquitin ligases AMFR/gp78 and RNF139/TRC8, leading to sterol-induced ubiquitination of HMGCR and subsequent proteasomal degradation (PubMed:21127063, PubMed:23223569). It is also required for the degradation of INSIG1, SREBF1, and SREBF2 (PubMed:23223569) and regulates the assembly and secretion of very low-density lipoprotein (VLDL) particles as well as the stability of apolipoprotein APOB (PubMed:28183703). In microbial infection, AUP1 is essential for inducing lipophagy following Dengue virus infection, which promotes the production of viral progeny particles.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
