Description	Ataxin 3 Antibody (YA1294) is a non-conjugated IgG antibody, targeting Ataxin 3. Ataxin 3 Antibody (YA1294) can be used for IHC-P experiment in human, mouse, rat background.
Background	Ataxin 3 is a deubiquitinating enzyme involved in protein homeostasis maintenance, transcription regulation, cytoskeleton regulation, myogenesis, and degradation of misfolded chaperone substrates. It binds and trims long polyubiquitin chains but exhibits weak or no activity against chains with 4 or fewer ubiquitins. Through its interaction with STUB1/CHIP, Ataxin 3 participates in the degradation of misfolded chaperone substrates: it is recruited to monoubiquitinated STUB1/CHIP, restricts the ubiquitin chain length on STUB1/CHIP substrates, and prevents further chain extension (by similar). Ataxin 3 also interacts with key transcription regulators and represses transcription, functioning as a histone-binding protein. Under amino acid deprivation, Ataxin 3 negatively regulates mTORC1 signaling by mediating RHEB deubiquitination, promoting RHEB inactivation by the TSC-TBC complex. Additionally, Ataxin 3 regulates autophagy by deubiquitinating BECN1 at Lys-402, thereby stabilizing BECN1.
