Description

Armenian Hamster Anti-Mouse CD80 Antibody (PE) (YA3448) is an Armenian hamster-derived and phycoerythrin (PE) IgG monoclonal antibody, targeting to CD80.

Background

Armenian Hamster Anti-Mouse CD80 is a costimulatory molecule belonging to the immunoglobulin superfamily that plays a crucial role in T-lymphocyte activation. It acts as the primary auxiliary signal, enhancing the MHC/TCR signal in naive T-cells together with the CD28 receptor, which is constitutively expressed on T-cell surfaces. Additionally, the CD28/CD80 costimulatory signal stimulates glucose metabolism and ATP synthesis in T-cells by activating the PI3K/Akt signaling pathway. It also regulates PDL1/PDCD1 interactions to limit excessive engagement of PDL1 and its inhibitory role in immune responses. Expressed on B-cells, it is critical for regulating interactions between B-cells and T-cells during both early and late germinal center responses, which are essential for generating effective humoral immune responses.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
