It may also be permeable to urea (By similarity). Additionally, AQP3 is involved in cellular permeability to H2O2 and H2O2-mediated signaling. In the skin, it transports glycerol to the epidermis and stratum corneum, maintaining hydration, elasticity, and supporting lipid biosynthesis for barrier repair (By similarity). In the kidney, AQP3 contributes to water reabsorption, aiding in the body's fluid balance regulation (By similarity).
