Protoporphyrinogen IX oxidase

Protoporphyrinogen IX oxidase (PPO) catalyzes the oxidation of protoporphyrinogen IX to protoporphyrinogen IX. PPO is also a target of diphenyl ether herbicides. In plants, there are two PPO encoding genes, namely PPO1 and PPO2.
