Description

Midodrine-d6 (hydrochloride) is a selective and orally active adrenergic α1-receptor agonist. Midodrine-d6 (hydrochloride) can strengthen vascular contraction. Midodrine-d6 (hydrochloride) can be used for the researches of cardiovascular disease, such as orthostatic hypotension[1][2][3].

In Vitro

Midodrine-d6 (hydrochloride) (30 μM, 0-24 h) increases p-AMPK and PPARδ expression in C2C12, HL1 and HepG2 cells[3].
Midodrine-d6 (hydrochloride) (30 μM, 0-1 min) increases Ca2+ in C2C12, HL1 and HepG2 cells[3].
Midodrine-d6 (hydrochloride) (30 μM) increases maximal mitochondrial oxidative phosphorylation and ATP content in C2C12 cells[3].
Midodrine-d6 (hydrochloride) (30-100 μM) reduces cellular lipid content in 3T3-L1 cells[3].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Western Blot Analysis[1]

Cell Line: C2C12, HL1 and HepG2 cells
Concentration: 30 μM
Incubation Time: 0, 0.5, 1, 3, 6, and 24 h
Result: Increased p-AMPK and PPARδ expression.
In Vivo

Midodrine-d6 (hydrochloride) (20 mg/kg, i.p., 30 mins before Paf) reduces platelet-activating factor (Paf)-induced death in mice[1].
Midodrine-d6 (hydrochloride) (5 mg/kg, i.g.) shows anti-hypotensive effects in orthostatic hypotension rats models[2].
Midodrine-d6 (hydrochloride) (0.3 mg/kg, p.o., 4 weeks.) relieves hypertension in spontaneously hypertensive rats models[3].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Animal Model: Orthostatic hypotension rats models[2]
Dosage: 5 mg/kg
Administration: Orally gavage
Result: Remarkably increased the baselines of SBP, DBP and MAP, but decreased HR.
Animal Model: Spontaneously hypertensive rats models[3]
Dosage: 0.3 mg/kg
Administration: Orally administration, 4 weeks
Result: Increased p-AMPK, PPARδ and PGC-1α expression.
Increased SDH activity and ATP levels.
Increased expression of uncoupling protein 3 (UCP3).
Decreased left ventricular mass and the harvested cardiac weight.
Reduced both systolic and diastolic BP after 1 week.
Reduced serum total cholesterol, LDL cholesterol, and HDL cholesterol.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
