In Vivo

D-(-)-Quinic acid (75-300 mg/kg, po, once daily for 49 days) exhibits lipid-lowering activity, improves obesity and fatty liver induced by high-fat diet in mouse models[1].
D-(-)-Quinic acid (200-400 mg/kg, po, once daily for 10 days) reduces the levels of AChE, malondialdehyde and nitrite, increases the expression of GSH, catalase and SOD in brain tissue, improves the cognitive dysfunction of rats in aluminum ion-induced dementia rat models[2].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Animal Model: Obese mouse model induced by high-fat diet[1]
Dosage: 75-300 mg/kg
Administration: po, once daily for 49 days
Result: Reduced the body weight, liver weight, blood lipid levels, liver function indexes and inflammatory factor levels of obese mice. Improved liver tissue pathological changes.
Animal Model: Aluminum ion-induced dementia rat models[2]
Dosage: 200-400 mg/kg
Administration: po, once daily for 10 days
Result: Improved the escape latency (ELT) and target quadrant residence in morris water maze test.
Increased locomotor activity in actophotometer test.
Reduced neuronal degeneration and preserved normal tissue structure in hippocampus and cortex.

In Vivo:

For the following dissolution methods, please prepare the working solution directly. It is recommended to prepare fresh solutions and use them promptly within a short period of time.
The percentages shown for the solvents indicate their volumetric ratio in the final prepared solution. If precipitation or phase separation occurs during preparation, heat and/or sonication can be used to aid dissolution.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
