Handling Instructions Technical Support

Thrombospondin (TSP-1)-derived CD36 binding motif is a bioactive hexapeptide. Thrombospondin (TSP-1)-derived CD36 binding motif interferes with the interaction between cells and the extracellular matrix by binding to CD36 and angiostatin, thereby affecting the cell adhesion and migration process. Thrombospondin (TSP-1)-derived CD36 binding motif inhibits platelet aggregation. Thrombospondin (TSP-1)-derived CD36 binding motif exerts an anti-tumor effect against colon cancer.

Description

Thrombospondin (TSP-1)-derived CD36 binding motif is a bioactive hexapeptide. Thrombospondin (TSP-1)-derived CD36 binding motif interferes with the interaction between cells and the extracellular matrix by binding to CD36 and angiostatin, thereby affecting the cell adhesion and migration process. Thrombospondin (TSP-1)-derived CD36 binding motif inhibits platelet aggregation. Thrombospondin (TSP-1)-derived CD36 binding motif exerts an anti-tumor effect against colon cancer[1][2][3][4].

In Vitro

Thrombospondin (TSP-1)-derived CD36 binding motif (200 μM) inhibits thrombospondin surface expression on activated platelets and partially inhibits platelet aggregation in response to agonists such as A23187 (HY-N6687), Epinephrine (HY-B0447B), ADP (HY-W010918), and Collagen[1].
Thrombospondin (TSP-1)-derived CD36 binding motif (200 μM) completely inhibits the attachment of Retinoic acid (HY-14649)-treated SK-N-SH cells to TSP-1, with an IC50 of 80 μM[2].

In Vivo

Thrombospondin (TSP-1)-derived CD36 binding motif (10 mg/kg; i.p.; every other day; 4 weeks) shows anti-tumor effects in a murine model of human colon cancer (female BALB/c nu/nu mice)[4].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Animal Model: Female BALB/c nu/nu mice (weight: 12-18 g, age: 8-10 weeks), human xenograft splenic injection model of colon cancer[4]
Dosage: 10 mg/kg (in PBS)
Administration: Intraperitoneal injection, every other day, 4 weeks
Result: Significantly reduced the primary tumor volume by 69% compared with the control group.
Improved the health score and internal disease score, with a minimum 30% improvement in both scores compared with control animals.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
