Description

Sodium oxalate is an orally active dispersant and coordination agent. Sodium oxalate causes mitochondrial dysfunction. Sodium oxalate has catalytic enhancing activity. Sodium oxalate induces stable chronic kidney disease. Sodium oxalate induces highly malignant and undifferentiated breast tumors[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8].

In Vitro

Sodium oxalate (1-4 mM; 1-24 h) leads to time- and concentration-dependent decrease in cell survival, inhibits proliferation in LLCPK1, MDCK, renal fibroblast and endothelial cells[2].
Sodium oxalate (0.1-2 mM; 24 h) causes mitochondrial dysfunction, reduces basal OCR and ATP-linked OCR in THP-1 cells[3].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

In Vivo

Sodium oxalate (Oxalic acid form; 810 μM; injected into mammary fatpad; every 3-4 days; 9 times, 29 days) induces highly malignant and undifferentiated breast tumors in female BALB/c or BALB/c nude mice[4].
Sodium oxalate (Oxalic acid form; 0.5 mmol/kg; i.p.; once daily for 5 consecutive days) combined with DMSA reverses GaAs-induced oxidative stress, reducing arsenic and gallium levels in tissues of male Wistar albino rats[6].
Sodium oxalate (50 μmol/g in calcium-free diet; p.o.) induces stable chronic kidney disease in C57BL/6 mice[7].
Sodium oxalate (70 mg/kg body weight; p.o. in drinking water; 30 days) induces urolithiasis in male mice, increasing serum uric acid, creatinine, sodium, phosphate, oxalate levels and renal sodium, phosphate, oxalate deposition [8].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

In Vivo:

For the following dissolution methods, please prepare the working solution directly. It is recommended to prepare fresh solutions and use them promptly within a short period of time.
The percentages shown for the solvents indicate their volumetric ratio in the final prepared solution. If precipitation or phase separation occurs during preparation, heat and/or sonication can be used to aid dissolution.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
