Fluorescein hydrazide is a sensitive fluorescent probe for Hg2+ and Co2+ that induces obvious color changes and fluorescence changes. Fluorescein hydrazide can be prepared by the reaction of fluorescein and hydrazine. Fluorescein hydrazide exhibits an excitation wavelength of 508 nM and an emission wavelength of 531 nM[2][3].

Description

Fluorescein hydrazide is a sensitive fluorescent probe for Hg2+ and Co2+ that induces obvious color changes and fluorescence changes. Fluorescein hydrazide can be prepared by the reaction of fluorescein and hydrazine. Fluorescein hydrazide exhibits an excitation wavelength of 508 nM and an emission wavelength of 531 nM[1][2][3].

In Vitro

Fluorescein hydrazide forms a complex with Hg2+, which in turn triggers structural changes in the Fluorescein hydrazide molecule, causes changes in its absorption and fluorescence spectra, thereby resulting the color and fluorescence intensity of Fluorescein hydrazide solution[2].
Fluorescein hydrazide can be used for detection of mercury pollution in water, food and biological samples, which can be applied in environmental monitoring, food safety and biomedicine[2].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
