Description

Fexlamose (AER-01) is a thiol-modified carbohydrate agent with mucolytic property. Fexlamose cleaves disulfides to cause mucolysis. Fexlamose can be used for researchs of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and muco-obstructive lung diseases (MOLD)[1][2].

In Vivo

Fexlamose (MUC-031) (131 mg/mL; intranasal instillation; three times in 1 day or twice a day for 2 weeks) decreases airway mucus plugging, lessens airway inflammation and improves survival in muco-obstructive lung disease (βENaC-Tg mice)[2].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Animal Model: βENaC-Tg mice[2]
Dosage: 131 mg/mL
Administration: Intranasal instillation; three times in 1 day or twice a day for 2 weeks
Result: Decreased airway mucus plugging and inflammation and improved survival in βENaC-Tg mice.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
